Memorial Day Charity Drive by Military Veteran Authors

Memorial Day Charity Drive by Military Veteran Authors

Memorial Day is this Monday and it’s a day to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. It’s also a great opportunity to say Thank You to the men and women who have served, or are currently serving, our country and their families who support them!

There is a group of authors who have pledged part or all of their royalties this week to Veteran charity organizations through Memorial Day. The authors participating are also veterans, so this is a way for bookish people to support veterans who give back to other veterans. A win for all!

Thriller Thursday: 11/22/63 by Stephen King

Thriller Thursday: 11/22/63 by Stephen King

Stephen King’s newest book departs from the traditional horror genre on an interesting new path: a blend of sci-fi, philosophy, history, politics and romance. It wouldn’t be Stephen King if there weren’t some extraordinarily descriptive gore involved, but Constant Readers will be happy to see that King’s monumental talent for character and plot development translate well to other genres.

Through the magic of fake IDs, Jake becomes George, the man who goes back to a time without iPhones or the internet, to try to change history. But will it be everything he hoped? Will George risk everything for JFK?

New Releases and eBook Gift Ideas: December 6

New Releases and eBook Gift Ideas: December 6

*Happy Sigh* It’s the middle of December and this is my favorite time of the year! The air is crisp, the city is decked out for the holidays and people I pass on the sidewalks seem generally happy as they go about their day. I’ve been listening to my Christmas carols for a few weeks now and the only thing that could make this season better for me would be finally getting our first real snowfall of the season.

New books also make me happy. I bet they’d make someone on your gift list happy, too! Luckily, it’s New Release Tuesday and the list of potential gift books just keeps growing.

Happy Birthday America!

Happy Birthday America!

It’s the Fourth of July, a time to reflect on our nation’s history and how incredible it is to live in America. We have some pretty amazing founding fathers who thoughtfully crafted our Declaration of Independence and Constitution to be living documents equally as important today as the day they were conceived. Here at Lazy Day Books, we’d also like to say Thank You to today’s heroes, the men and women of our armed forces who work hard every day protecting us and our freedom! We are incredibly lucky to have you on our side!

A long holiday weekend is the perfect time to brush up on our American History. Whether you’re looking for historical inspiration or fun facts to talk about at a BBQ, we’ve put together a great selection for you here.
